Xcel is an invitation-only program designed for a more flexible yet competitive experience!
Our Xcel Program offers a rewarding and flexible competitive gymnastics experience for athletes who want to stay engaged in the sport while balancing other commitments, such as school, extracurricular activities, or other sports.
Governed by USA Gymnastics, this program is ideal for gymnasts looking to explore competition with more freedom and creativity.
The Xcel Program features five competitive levels offered at Dunne’s: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, each designed to meet athletes where they are in their gymnastics journey.
Whether a gymnast is new to competition or more experienced and seeking a lower time commitment than the Development Program, Xcel provides a supportive and exciting path forward.
Allows gymnasts to pursue gymnastics alongside other interests
Emphasizes individual expression and creativity in routines
Encourages athletes to showcase their strengths
Provides a positive team environment and competitive experience
Offers local and regional competition opportunities
Athletes at these levels compete in group-choreographed routines tailored to each gymnast's individual strengths. They typically train 2–3 days per week year-round (June–June) and participate in 4–6 meets per season, culminating in:
Bronze: State Sectionals
Silver: State Championships
This is the perfect entry point for gymnasts who are newer to competition or seeking a lower-intensity option within a team setting.
These upper-level Xcel athletes create personalized routines in collaboration with coaches and choreographers, allowing for greater individuality and technical development. Athletes train 3–4 days per week year-round (June–June), with a focus on building:
Strength and flexibility
High-level performance skills
Confidence and self-expression
The season’s goal for these levels is qualification to the Regional Championships, offering a competitive and inspiring environment that still supports outside interests and academic success.
Season: Annual commitment from June to June
Financial Commitment: Upon acceptance, families commit financially for the full year, as placement reserves a limited spot and includes access to dedicated training and program resources.
Rolling admission is available for late recommendations, subject to space availability.
